This was a project I did over the last term at school; Basically, I just wanted to mess around with twitter and see how I could reinvent how you surf around it. Instead of looking at the hot trends, I made every term immediately clickable. whereas the general format of the site is that you look at your friends, and your immediate neighborhood of followers, with this, you are really only guided by the words that catch your interest. The program tracks the words you click, and over time, it begins to reflect what you actually care about, in a vacuum separated from the rest of the site. Go ahead and find yourself looking at words like “fuck,” “Jesus,” “pregnant,” you know, sort of important words, and you’ll see how the use of twitter begins to change as you go in this completely different direction.
UPDATE 2/18/2010: I’m planning on trying to get this thing online sometime “relatively” soon. Look around for it on this site. If this message does not actually result in something by 8/18/2010, it probably never will, however, as I’m not great at doing something as nasty as Processing for the web, and I’ll probably just walk away.
